now and then

Today I had a reunion with my best friends from Junior High. Can you imagine? Its been more than 15 years! It's such a sweet but strange feeling at the same time looking at these faces you haven't seen in such a while. Two of them, went to high school with me, so we definitely have a long history, however even High School was still a long time ago. I wish I had pictures of us back then from when our teacher would call us "high noses" which basically means stuck-ups. We weren't, I assure you. Its just in his opinion our little group, the four of us, always had the "stylish clothes on and we would walk like we own the place and let no one else in our little group." He was so funny, because this was not the case. We were just pretty close and that was it. Come on, we were only eleven and twelve years old after all.
The film "Now and Then" always reminded me of us, except it was different times. We grew up in the 90's in New York City. But one thing is the same, their bond and how simple and care-free life was back then. Ahhh to be so young again! And if you have never watched "Now and Then" then you and I do not speak the same language missy.

letters from far

I wish you were happy, wherever you are.
I wish I could share my happiness with you,
I wish you still knew what it is to be in love.
My dear friend, you have forgotten your heart too far away

birthday girl

from left to right: Arianny, me, and Estefania
I've had one of the most amazing birthdays ever, and I do not want to forget a single moment.  During the week, the mister took me boat-riding at Central park, so very sweet and romantic specially since he did all the rowing ;P. On thursday, he took me on the Circle Line 3-hour cruise (I know, I know, I live in New York City but believe it or not I had never done it and was dying to), it was both exciting and romantic :). On friday the 23rd (my official born day), we went to Six Flags with some friends, I was already beginning to feel the pain on my legs and feet, but it was soo much fun of course- we went on about every roller coaster ride. And lastly on saturday, a friend had an all-girls-bohemian-white-style get-together for my birthday celebration. I had not had so much fun and laughs in a while now. It was the perfect week, and couldn't have asked for more ^_^

I miss sleepovers...

I remember since I was little I would have sleepovers. Over the years, I changed bestfriends (It was always my choice though thats another story obviously some sort of issues there) and each one got to sleep over at my place. I tried once a sleepover with a few friends but it didn't turn out very good-  girls fighting, girls not talking to each other the next day, and so I always preferred to have one and one nights to talk, play, and listen to music, OH and of course record ourselves singing through the fan or a.c. :) Oh come one, you know you did it too ;P I think my last sleepover was at my bestfriend's house when I was in college (although there was no singing this time lol). We are a little too old for sleepovers, a few are graduating from college, some are married, and most have kids. I don't know but some part me misses this, these close bonds you create with your friends that over the years fade. Life gets in the way and we get too busy and lost in our own worlds

looks like a brighter day

or was is it just my mail? Woke up on the right sunny side of the bed, and when I opened up my mailbox I got some pretty little packages. In between all those bills and junk mail, there were too scribble packages addressed to little old me :) Oh how happy and curious I got is beyond description. One was a little something I had won on ebay and the other was a letter from my best friend (she read my "letters in the mail" blog here) How sweet is she? Guess I will be writing some thankyou letters soon :)
